Naga Siren forces opponents to split their attention across the map: while you’re killing her illusions, she’s taking another jungle camp. If she’s given enough space, her copies will become durable, and defending structures will get harder and harder. Let’s look at which heroes disrupt Naga’s farming and fighting, what to buy against her, and how to stop her map pressure.
Hero Overview
Mirror Image creates illusions that Naga sends to lanes, into the jungle, and out to scout. Rip Tide helps her deal damage and reduce enemies’ armor, while Ensnare holds a target hero in place. With Song of the Siren, Naga can interrupt a fight that’s going badly or give her allies time to prepare an attack.
Naga’s strength depends on her items and her ability to spread illusions across the map. While her copies die quickly, she has to send more units to a single camp and earns gold more slowly. AoE damage also makes her less effective in fights: without her illusions, it’s easier to find and lock down the real Naga. However, a single well-timed AoE spell won’t be enough if Naga survives it and has time to create new copies.
Best Heroes Against Naga Siren
Naga is usually picked in position 1 as a carry, though support builds are also seen. Against her as a carry, clearing illusions and applying early pressure to her jungle are important. It’s also useful to have disables that prevent her from escaping with Song of the Siren.
Carry
- Sven hits nearby copies with Great Cleave while attacking a chosen target. With God's Strength, he quickly tears through a group of illusions, while Storm Hammer helps lock down the real Naga.
- Luna deals damage to multiple targets with Moon Glaives. She can quickly take down structures with her team and force Naga to defend before she gets expensive items.
Mid
- Leshrac burns through illusions with Pulse Nova. He doesn’t need to guess which one is real to start dealing damage, but he’ll need protection to fight Naga for an extended period.
- Ember Spirit hits copies with Sleight of Fist and can move quickly between lanes. His job is to stop illusions from pushing toward towers uncontested and to join attacks on Naga herself.
Offlaner
- Timbersaw deals AoE pure damage, which isn’t mitigated by the illusions’ high armor. He can deal with copies on the lane and prevent them from taking over territory uncontested.
- Dark Seer gradually destroys illusions with Ion Shell. Surge helps an ally create distance, while Vacuum groups Naga and her copies together for the team’s AoE abilities.
Support
- Earthshaker uses a cluster of illusions to amplify Echo Slam. It’s important for him to wait for the right moment: if he reveals himself first, Naga can start her attack with him as the target.
- Grimstroke hits copies with Stroke of Fate and helps lock down enemies with Ink Swell. Soulbind is useful when another enemy hero is near Naga.
Hard Support
- Lion destroys regular illusions with Hex and Mana Drain. This lets him remove some of the copies without expensive items, while Earth Spike helps continue the lockdown on the real Naga.
- Jakiro hits illusions with Dual Breath and Macropyre. You can save Ice Path until Mirror Image ends, then catch the newly created targets with a stun.
What to Buy Against Naga Siren
| Item | Effects |
|---|---|
| Mjollnir | clears illusions with lightning. Its active shield is useful on an ally whom Naga and her copies have already started attacking |
| Battle Fury | gives a melee carry cleave damage. Buy it on a suitable hero: on its own, it won’t make up for insufficient attack damage |
| Shiva's Guard | increases armor and reduces the attack speed of nearby enemies. Its active ability can hit both Naga and her illusions at once |
| Crimson Guard | helps the team withstand frequent attacks from copies. It’s especially useful before Naga gains a significant item advantage |
| Scythe of Vyse | lets you lock down the real Naga once you find her and prevent her from immediately using Song of the Siren |
| Black King Bar | protects you from Song of the Siren while active. Keep an eye on your allies: if they’re asleep, you may be the only available target for the enemy team |
| Ghost Scepter | protects a support from physical attacks. Rip Tide’s magic damage and Naga’s allies’ spells are still dangerous |
How to Play Against Naga Siren at Different Stages
Laning
Hit Naga along with her illusions and stop her from last-hitting creeps. If she sends copies to pull a camp or into a nearby camp, that’s an opportunity to check her farm while Naga herself stays in lane. Watch out for Ensnare: she can hold an out-of-position support in place for her teammate to attack.
Mid Game
Don’t have the whole team chase illusions. Assign one hero to defend the lane while the rest take over Naga’s jungle or pressure her allies. The direction her copies move can give you a rough idea of where she’s farming. You need quick lockdown to kill her: if you let her use her song, the chase will often end without a result.
Late Game
Save AoE damage for new illusions, and reliable lockdown for the real Naga. After Song of the Siren, enemies may start a fight with several abilities at once, so don’t stand too close together unless necessary. Push out the lanes before advancing; otherwise, even winning a fight won’t let you safely move toward the enemy base.
