Furion can appear on the other side of the map, help secure a kill, and immediately switch to a tower. Chasing him wastes time, while unattended lanes can quickly reach your base. In this article, we'll look at who can catch Furion, which items help escape Sprout, and how to defend the map against constant split-pushing.

Hero Overview

Teleportation lets Furion move around the map without being tied to allied buildings. With Sprout, he surrounds a target with trees, while Nature's Call summons Treants for farming, scouting, and putting pressure on towers. Wrath of Nature helps him deal damage from a distance and clear creep waves.

Furion is especially dangerous when enemies show far from their buildings or use Teleportation unnecessarily. However, he has no built-in instant escape: he needs time to cast Teleportation. A stun or silence gives the team time to kill him. In lane, much depends on Sprout, so being able to cut down a tree significantly reduces the threat of an early gank.

Best Heroes Against Nature's Prophet

Furion is often picked as a position 1 carry. Regardless of their role, heroes who can quickly reach their target, interrupt Teleportation, and defend lanes without leaving the team for long are useful against him.

Carry

  • Spectre can quickly get next to Furion with her ultimate. Spectral Dagger lets her move through Sprout's trees and keep track of the target as soon as he tries to hide.
  • Naga Siren can meet creep waves and Treants with illusions while continuing to farm herself. Furion has a harder time controlling the map through split-pushing when his pressure can be held back by illusions.

Mid

  • Storm Spirit quickly closes the distance with Ball Lightning. Electric Vortex can interrupt Teleportation and hold Furion for a follow-up attack.
  • Tiny destroys trees and catches Furion with the Avalanche and Toss combo. In the jungle, he can reach his target more easily with Blink Dagger instead of walking straight into attacks.

Offlaner

  • Timbersaw destroys Sprout's trees with his abilities. He can free allies and clear Treants, while Reactive Armor helps him withstand physical attacks.
  • Legion Commander holds Furion with Duel and prevents him from completing Teleportation. Vision behind the lanes is especially important for these kills, as Furion waits there for a good moment to push.

Support

  • Spirit Breaker pursues Furion when he shows with Charge of Darkness. Bashes help interrupt his retreat, and the ability to start an attack from the other side of the map limits his freedom.
  • Mirana can escape Sprout with Leap. Sacred Arrow is useful to aim at Furion if he has already started Teleportation and is standing still, provided there are no other targets in between.

Hard Support

  • Treant Protector restores the health of buildings with Living Armor. This gives the team time to react to a push, while Overgrowth helps catch Furion when defending a tower.
  • Disruptor can pull Furion back with Glimpse after a recent relocation. Static Storm prevents him from using abilities again and escaping the fight.

What to Buy Against Nature's Prophet

  • Quelling Blade lets you cut down a Sprout tree. It's useful even for a support if they have no other reliable way to escape.
  • Force Staff helps get an ally out of the trees and push them away from Furion. Ranged heroes should consider upgrading it to Hurricane Pike.
  • Boots of Travel let a core respond to lane pressure faster. They're especially useful when a regular teleport is consistently not enough.
  • Orchid Malevolence prevents Furion from starting Teleportation. Once he gets a dispel, you'll need to wait for him to use it or add another disable.
  • Scythe of Vyse helps stop Furion by surprise and prevents him from using defensive items.
  • Ghost Scepter protects a support from physical attacks. It buys time for allies to arrive; it is not a way to stop a push on your own.
  • Black King Bar helps you survive an attack from Furion with silence and other disables from items. Sprout's trees themselves will not disappear, though.

How to Play Against Nature's Prophet at Different Stages

Laning

Keep a tree-cutting tool in an accessible slot. If an ally nearby gets caught in Sprout, help them escape before continuing the trade. Kill Treants when it's safe: they shouldn't be able to attack you for free or block paths. Watch out for Furion suddenly appearing in another lane, and warn the team when he goes missing.

Mid Game

Place vision in the side jungles and behind the lanes: Furion often waits there for the next wave. Send a hero who can interrupt Teleportation to catch him, not just the fastest ally. Don't have the whole team use Town Portal Scrolls to go to one side of the map—that will open up the other side for him.

Late Game

Even after winning a fight, check your lanes and buildings. Decide in advance who will return to defend, so the others don't all stop pushing at once. If you manage to catch Furion while he has no buyback, use the time to pressure the base. A long chase across the map can cost more than the kill itself.
